Cebolla Mesa – 3HR Morning Ride

It was absolutely perfect from the reserving, to the pre-ride explanation, and Shelby’s personality and interaction with us. Of course, you can’t beat the scenery! We’re so happy we did it.

My family and I had such an amazing experience! We drove up and were greeted kindly by Shelby and Javier and you could tell right away they were both genuine and kind. We were the only ones for that session which turned out to be so amazing and peaceful! The views around the area were breathtaking taking too! All of us connected well with our horses and my mule! Hands down, the best horseback riding experience we have had! I would highly recommend for anyone and everyone! Thank you Rio Grand Stables!

I broke my ankle while hiking last weekend and EMS was able to get a lovely mule named Lady from Rio Grande Stables to give me a ride out. Lady was lovely and I'm not sure I would have gotten out of the gorge without her. Incredibly smooth ride, more comfortable than the ambulance ride! I'm forever indebted to Lady and the Rio Grande Stables. I can't wait to return for a ride when my ankle is better. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

We had a wonderful time with our guides! One of the best rides I’ve ever been on. I appreciated that the horses looked super healthy and comfortable and that the guides were welcoming and knowledgeable. I’d highly recommend the 3 hour ride to the rio grande!

From start to finish, everything was beyond my expectations. The picturesque landscape of Taos provided the perfect backdrop for our adventure. The horses were well-trained and gentle, making it a comfortable and enjoyable ride for riders of all skill levels. She made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable throughout the ride. One of the highlights of the ride was when we reached a panoramic overlook. Shelby shared fascinating stories about the history and culture of Taos, adding depth to our adventure. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local heritage while enjoying the beauty of nature. The duration of the ride was just perfect, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience without feeling rushed. The horses were well-cared for, and it was evident that their well-being was a top priority. Overall, my horseback riding experience in Taos, NM was nothing short of extraordinary. It combined the thrill of riding with the serenity of nature, creating a memorable and magical journey. When we arrived for our 3 hour ride, we were delighted to discover that we were the only 2 people on this ride. Our guide was Shelby, and even though we have some riding experience, she thoroughly explained all the safety issues and gave us each a quick lesson before heading out. We rode to the Rio Grande gorge. The horse and mules knew the way and so we were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery instead watching our feet as we do when hiking.
