Itinerary

Meet us at Bison Parking Lot in the Taos Ski Valley at 9:00am ready to ride, for paperwork, a safety-talk, and a brief riding instruction

Enjoy a full day of Taos horseback riding to explore the wonders of this region? Exploring the mountain trails of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains and the views of Gold Hill, Wheeler Peak!

This is where we pull out our world class picnic of smoked meat, artisanal cheeses, black bean or quinoa salad, fresh fruit, cookies, etc.

After lunch, mount back up and mosey back down to the parking lot!

Frequently asked questions

For safety and comfort, weight limit for trail ride is 250 lbs / 113 Kgs
Depending on where you're driving from and which trail you take on the All-Day ride, you're looking at 5000-7000ft in elevation gain in less than 6hrs.
If you are a single adult rider, please call our office to be added to an existing ride!
This ride is extremely strenuous, so we advise you to check out one of our shorter rides if you consider yourself a beginner or have never ridden

Age Requirement

Riders for an All-Day Wheeler Peak adventure must be 12 years or older with more riding experience

Cancellation Policy

A strict 7-day cancellation policy applies.

What to Wear

Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. We recommend lightweight long-sleeve shirts for sun protection, and a rain jacket is a MUST in the likely case the weather turns

Weather Conditions

Be prepared for changing weather conditions.

Weight

Limit of 250lbs. This is for safety of both animal & rider. Riders must be in good athletic shape and be able to mount/dismount with no assistance

Summit to Wheeler Peak

Although we do our best to get you to the top of Wheeler Peak, we cannot promise a summit due to factors including but not limited to weather, the group, the guide, etc.
